Our History

Our historic location was the first school in West Hanover Township

The original building was erected before 1800 and operated as the Snodgrass School prior to the Civil War and from the mid-1800’s to the mid-1900’s it was operated as the Oak Hall School. Hershey restaurateur George Hoffman purchased the property in the mid-1950’s and operated the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in it until the mid-1970’s. The property was then sold to Bill Pavone in 1975, and became the iconic regional mainstay known as Pavone’s Restaurant. The Pavone family endeared their warm hospitality among the local clientele and the weary traveler who would be just passing through. Some of those travelers stopped year after year to the family owned establishment. This loyal patronage was a testement to the good food, good service and great employees ~ some of which have been in service here for more than 30 years.

In March 2012

The restaurant was sold to a trio of men from Lebonon,Pa. Pete Sr, his brother , Kim, and Pete's son, Pete Jr, bought the property now known as the Manor Restaurant & Lounge. After a two month period, The Zoumas Trio closed for a refurbishing of the dining room, lounge area and bar. In June 2012 , the restaurant was re opened officially as The Manor Restaurant & Lounge. The Zoumases are a restaurant family with The Hearth in Lebonon, Pa, and multiple other family owned establishments in New Jersey. We look forward to what the furture brings with Pete Jr, recent graduate of CIA and Sommelier. We hope you enjoy your visit to The Manor Restaurant & Lounge and come back and see us often!
